While the decline in visits from U.S. residents to Ontario have been well documented, and attributed to changing attitudes of Americans to Canada, a closer look shows this is not unique to the U.S. Similar declines are evident across several major source countries (particularly China and other East Asian markets) reflecting wider shifts in global travel, tighter visa and student policies, and post-pandemic rebalancing. In other words, the drop in U.S. visitors is part of a broader international pattern rather than a standalone trend.
