Easter 2026: Real Prices of Eggs, Lamb, and Tulips (1961 – 2025)

In constant 2025 dollars, the Easter basket tells a clear story. The price of eggs and tulips, the holiday’s staples, have remained relatively stable over time. Lamb, however, stands apart. Traditionally the centrepiece of an Easter meal, it has increased significantly, climbing from roughly $16 to $29 per kg, with sharper gains in recent years. The result is a subtle shift; while Easter traditions like eggs and flowers remain broadly affordable, the cost of the main meal has risen in real terms.
