PILGRIM IS AN INTERNATIONAL, FAMILY-OWNED JEWLLERY, WATCHES & SUNGLASSES BRAND FOUNDED IN DENMARK BY ANNEMETTE MARKVAD DURING THE SUMMER OF 1983. TODAY THIS FAMILY TRADITION OF HAND & HEART MADE CRAFTSMANSHIP CONTINUES IN CANADA BY A TEAM OF PASSIONATE CANADIANS WHO SHARE ANNEMETTE’S VISION AND VALUES. The Pilgrim story begins in the cultured and centuries-old city of Århus, Denmark during the summer of 1983, when then young student designer Annemette Markvad translated her great love for minimalism, art, music, and people into a collection of handmade jewellery she sold at local music festivals throughout Scandinavia and Germany. Annemette was Inspired by Nordic culture, stories, moods and mythology, Pilgrim designs are deeply rooted in local history and its connection to its customers. Quickly the brand grew, and it is now represented in more than 71 countries worldwide through various distribution agreements. The Canadian Pilgrim Journey began on October 14, 2014, when Robert P. Hayes walked into his first Pilgrim store experience at Bruun's Gallery in Århus Denmark and he immediately fell in love with the brand’s minimalist aesthetic and family-run history. This store visit had a big impact on Robert, and he knew that the Pilgrim brand and product offerings was something never before seen on the Canadian market. Through many meetings and interactions with Annemette, Robert was able to convince her that he would be the perfect caretaker of her brand within the North America market, and it was decided that he bring the Pilgrim brand back to his native country of Canada. On December 15, 2015, Pilgrim North America Inc. was established and today, this family tradition of hand & heart made jewellery continues in Canada by a team of passionate Canadians who share Annemette’s vision and values. The Canadian Pilgrim team come from a wide diversity of backgrounds but share a common passion for people, art, music, and jewellery Pilgrim has been built on a foundation of mutual trust and dedication towards community and hard work.
