Position Description As Research Associate at the Fraser Mustard Institute for Human Development Policy Bench (Policy Bench), in partnership with the Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Children (Leong Centre), the incumbent is responsible for: Liaising with Policy Bench and Leong Centre leads, faculty, staff and members Providing scholarly support and supervision Having oversight of policy briefs and tools Facilitating contact with governments, NGOs and other stakeholders to prioritize and organize research responses, maintain relationships as appropriate Connecting faculty with specific expertise in related fields to the policy request Developing a searchable database of policy resources on the Leong Centre website that will become a publicly available knowledge mobilization tool Specific Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to Dr. Ashley Vandermorris, and working closely with the Leong Centre Co-Directors, Dr. Eyal Cohen and Dr. Astrid Guttmann, the Research Associate will engage in all aspects of research synthesis, project management and oversight of the production of policy briefs and tools. Scholarly Participation Providing scholarly support and supervision, which may include supporting the supervision of trainees Project management and administration Planning and monitoring the implementation and completion of project activities Overseeing the day-to-day work of the project Monitoring and periodically reporting on the various project budgets, in consultation with and in response to financial reporting requests from the Research Program Manager Communications Working closely with the Community Engagement and Knowledge Mobilization Specialist and the Research Program Manager to produce relevant internal and external communications Liaising with the academic and government partners Planning and organizing team meetings, teleconferences, webinars, and other project meetings and events, supporting events of the Leong Centre as required Planning, implementing, and evaluating knowledge translation activities and preparing infographics, reports and other products for public circulation, in collaboration with the Community Engagement and Knowledge Mobilization Specialist and the Research Program Manager Our Commitment to Diversity The children and families we care for are from a variety of communities, and so are our employees.
